Water Baptism

We practice water baptism by immersion after accepting Christ as our Savior. Children may be baptized, if they are at least 8 years of age, anytime after they have accepted Christ and are mature enough to understand it. We leave the final decision to our parents.

It is important that you understand the meaning of water baptism before you are baptized. There is no power in the water, but rather it's our faith in our obedience to Christ that makes baptism "work"! Read these statements and scriptures about water baptism that outline it's meaning.

  • I have repented of my sins and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior and believe by faith that I am born again. I now desire to be obedient to the command of the Lord to be water baptized. (Acts 2:38)
  • I believe that immersion following conversion is God’s way of baptism, representing the burial and resurrection with our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom. 6:4)
  • I enter into this water baptism by faith. I am trusting God to “seal” my salvation experience. I will, by the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, put off all sin and my old ways to walk in newness of life! (Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21; Colossians 1:9-12; Romans 6:3-7).

When you get baptized, you get a free "I Have Decided" t-shirt to proclaim your decision to the community.

We hold our water baptisms quarterly. Check the calendar for the next baptism date!

Like getting married and the ceremony that makes it "official", we need to make our following Jesus "official" by obeying His command to be baptized.
